I guess pumping on Twitter too, by some people who evidently cannot read accurately.

Here < a href="http://www.lyalls.net/haiti/week_of.html"> is my account of that last week of February 2004.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05756505013964530987noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31283257.post-60780945674188651772008-11-18T23:04:00.000+01:002008-11-18T23:04:00.000+01:00A further response to Peter Hallward can be read h...A further response to Peter Hallward can be read here:

Michael Deibert responds to Peter Hallward

http://deiberthaiti.blogspot.com/2008/04/michael-deibert-responds-to-peter.htmlAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31283257.post-80045249226810847542008-09-11T20:13:00.000+02:002008-09-11T20:13:00.000+02:00So I haven't read the book, but now I'm not really...So I haven't read the book, but now I'm not really inclined to. I myself have tried to understand the complexity of Haiti, its history, language and culture, but have never really been able to come to some kind of sanctified conclusion about my views on Aristide and the Lavalas movement. But having been lucky enough to converse with people who have spent considerable amounts of time there, know the language, and some who have even worked very closely with Aristide, I can understand your frustration with the desire of some writers to ignore or twist the facts/sources to back up their simplified conclusions. But then again I can understand their desire to want to do so. In so many ways, and like so many others, I wish the Aristide story could have had a different conclusion. Now I don't want to ramble for too long but I did find your review very thorough. I guess I need to read the book now to come to my own conclusions. I should probably read your book too. I'll let you know what I think...not that you probably care.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
